Read Matthew 27:57-61
Pilate pronounces him dead, Joseph asks for the body so he can bury him in the tomb. The dream is over. The One is dead. How alone the disciples must have felt. How confused they must have been. This wasn’t the way it was supposed to be, Jesus was supposed to be the one to save them.
If only we could step into this moment and tell them that it’s all ok. If we could just whisper through time, "hold on don’t lose hope yet, He lives!" As they struggle through the day Saturday wrestling with all their emotions the joy of the resurrection gets sweeter and sweeter. When the calendar turns their sorrow will become joy and their hope will return, never to leave to again!
Maybe today you find yourself in a season of depression? Perhaps you are experiencing loss and pain? Many could be feeling hopeless and alone? Take heart, find joy, in knowing that God is the God of the resurrection! Saturday was a long day for the followers of Jesus I know, but aren’t we blessed to know the rest of the story! Jesus walks from the grave conquering death and claiming victory over sin for all who will trust in Him. In your hours of darkness, please put your trust, your hope, in Him because he is the true Messiah
NOW DO SOMETHING...
Take a minute to write a note to someone you love. In this letter write about your love and hope in Jesus Christ. This will serve as a reminder to you and witness to someone else concerning the power of the resurrection.
Blessings and Peace,
